In recent years, contamination of cereals and silages with mycotoxins has been steadily increasing.
Mycotoxins are toxic substances produced by fungi (moulds) growing on crops in the field or in storage facilities during the storage process. To date, more than 400 mycotoxins have been chemically identified, of which the biological or veterinary effects are known for only a few.
In livestock, the first signs of mycotoxin poisoning may occur relatively quickly (within approximately two weeks).
They most commonly cause:
- Reduced feed intake, vomiting and diarrhoea
- Liver and kidney damage
- Damage to the central nervous system
- Damage to the skin and mucous membranes
- Impaired immune system function
- Hormonal disorders
JOSERA MycoProtec counteracts this problem. Thanks to an innovative combination of different substances, it reliably eliminates the presence of:
- Trichothecenes
- Aflatoxins
- Ochratoxin A
- Fumonisins
- Ergot alkaloids
- Endotoxins
