JOSERA Miraplus success story Harms

At Ingo Harms’ dairy farm, switching to MiraPlus simplified feeding by combining two products in one solution. The change reduced workload, storage requirements and costs while supporting stable animal health and milk production in a herd of 132 cows.

Josera success story Miraplus farmer Harms

The operation

  • 132 cows in lactation (Holstein) with transponders
  • Average herd production: 37.4 kg per animal/day
  • 4.0 % fat
  • 3.4 % protein

Our solution

  • For 8 years: 200 g JOSERA Miramin + 200 g JOSERA DairyPilot per animal/day
  • January 2024: switch to 400 g MiraPlus
  • Feedlot: 40 kg mixture of grass and mais silage with a small proportion of barley straw, 10 kg water, 2 kg energy mix, 3 kg milk performance feed, 4 kg feed concentrated feed in pellets, 50 g Frischhaltekonzentrat

The goal

  • JOSERA DairyPilot and JOSERA Miramin were introduced 8 years ago to stabilize the rumen
  • Improved animal health
  • Less work (one sack instead of two)
  • Optimize the storage
  • capacity Cost saving

The success

Since switching from sodium bicoarbonate to DairyPilot and Miramin, milk production also increased by 1-2 liters per animal/day and feed intake increased. Animal health remained stable for years. Since January 2024, they have been using only MiraPlus. Since they only need one sack, our work processes have been reduced and everything can be stored in a single silo. This provided clear savings in terms of time and costs.

The statement

MiraPlus

"Eight years ago, I had problems with animal health. That’s why I switched to Josera and have been using it exclusively ever since. The vitaminization is just right and thus we wid not have any milk drop in milk production despite bluetongue disease. I also use Josera milk replacer and Josilac® silage additive to optimize my silage."
