LinoVit | Healthy Calf Development and Gains up to 1,200 g

The operation

• 160 lactating dairy cows (Simmental cattle)
• Average herd production: 10,500 kg

Our solution

• Linovit has been used in the operation for 3 years to make up 30% of the dry calf TMR.
• Linovit dry TMR is offered to calves aged 2–15 weeks.
• Silage is added to the feed from 12 weeks of age in order to enable as smooth a transition as possible.
• Composition of the dry TMR: 30% Linovit, barley, grain maize, molasses and straw. A combination of straw and hay in a ratio of 2:1 has also been proven effective.
• Four tons of dry TMR are produced in mixing wagons and stored for approx. 10 weeks in Big Bags.

• A high level of feed intake and healthy development in the calves
• Own mixing of high-quality dry TMR

The success

With Linovit TMR in combination with a high consumption of milk replacer, the farm reached 1,200 g as daily weight gain. The effort required to produce and fill the dry TMR into the Big Bags is manageable and the positive result of a tasty, in-house mixture can be seen immediately. There were no problems with the TMR stability when stored in Big Bags.
